Start Decluttering In The Kitchen

Here at Care to Stay Home, we hope that 2017 is treating you well! As you know, the new year brings about resolutions and change. Two of the most cliche resolutions are to declutter and become healthier. As a transition into the new year, we are going to help you with these to things, by giving you tips on how to keep your fridge clean!
In order to declutter we must first empty the fridge. To remain healthy, we must clean the fridge. Remove the shelves and drawers, and soak them in warm soapy water. Then, use warm soapy water to wipe down the interior of the fridge. If there are difficult stains use baking soda to scrub them out.
To further your cleanliness and remain decluttered, we must know when to keep and when to throw out food. First, all left overs should be stored in airtight containers within two hours of the food being done. Cooked meat should only be kept 3-4 days, while it’s broth and gravy must be thrown out after about two days. Other things last a little longer, such as eggs(in shell) which can be kept for about 3-5 weeks, and butter which can be kept for 1-3 months. Throwing old food out can prevent food borne illnesses, this is key to helping us stay healthy!
It is important as we continue this year to remain not only clean, but also healthy. By throwing out old food we can keep ourselves safe and healthy! Happy New Year and Happy Valentine’s Day!
